I believe in building branding the right way — from the ground up. It all starts with a new client discovery exercise, where we collaborate to answer specfic questions about your business that will prepare us to mindfully develop an in-depth strategy. This strategy will serve as a compass for all the key decisions we'll make throughout the branding process.
I get to work from there, using your strategy to thoughtfully craft design elements. That's when the magic happens. The design elements begin to flow with one-another to form a strong, cohesive concept that you'll carefully review from the point of view of your audience. You then, of course, deliver some valuable feedback that I will use to refine the initial idea into a fully-fledged identity, complete with a detailed guide that establishes standards for proper use of your brand assets. This process typically requires anywhere from 6-8 weeks from start to finish. Brand assets often include logo(s), mark(s), colors, and a curated font system.
Many clients need branding but return for ancillary services like collateral design and website design. Because I'm a front-end developer, I try to build on existing frameworks like Squarespace, Webflow, and Shopify (just to name a few). You'd be surprised what you can do with a few lines of CSS. But if your needs are more specific, I also work well with other developers to offer tailored solutions.
The Mood Board is a tenet of branding design and one of the most important steps in the entire process. Here we pair visual inspiration with key brand colors that work to form initial concepts.
